James Oliver Student accommodation 2019 Pledge to continue providing the best University housing in Portsmouth
Well what a year 2018 was for us here at James Oliver Properties. With an ever expanding portfolio of student properties all owned by ourselves we have continued to lead the way on what is considered premium or as the students say “Peak”, “Peng” or “Sick” when it comes to University housing or again as is referred to as a “Yard”, “Crib” or “Manor”.
There are no houses we own and represent that are below our relentlessly high standard. “If we wouldn’t live in one of our houses then how can you expect a student to” is a sentiment we hold closely to our values here at James Oliver Student Properties. We are graduates of Portsmouth University ourselves and have lived the life as a student that became the foundations of our adult careers and cemented our personalities as adults.
Always going above and beyond has resulted in a high regard for our housing among the student community. Not charging admin fees to students for creating a tenancy agreement, securing deposits in the TDS (Tenancy deposit Scheme), inventories in and out or the check out process and also charging extremely low deposits are all integral to our flawless reputation.
Last year we raised over £500 for the NSPCC with our office manager Matt running a marathon on the 23rd December and we plan to fundraise more this year for good causes. We regularly donate to Hope House, part of The Salvation Army in Portsmouth that provides emergency accommodation for the homeless and prison releases with no fixed abode.
One of many highlights this year was the marketing strategy of designing and manufacturing 50 To Let boards specifically aimed at students of Portsmouth University to be displayed with pride outside all of our houses. What an achievement James Oliver has made to date by creating such a value focused authentic brand that he is so passionate about he put his own name forward as the title over 10 years ago.
2019 will see some of our current tenants leave due to graduating, enrolling on placement years, some old faces come back to us and many students remain in their houses for another year.
We embrace everyone and are excited to see who will be living in our houses for the foreseeable future.
Have an excellent 2019!
